When in Copenhagen

Among favourite souvenirs from Copenhagen, modern jewellery in gold or silver or applied arts in glass and ceramics are very popular.

The residents themselves enjoy shopping along the Stroget, which is the Europe's longest pedestrian precinct and neighbouring pedestrian zones, and that has fine boutiques next to simple shops and department stores.

Royal Castles and noble monuments housing Royal institutes mark the city's streets and canals.

Places of Interest in Copenhagen

The treasures of the National Museum are immense, but a visit to the Department of Viking weapons and utensils is unique and strongly recommended.

One of Copenhagens landmarks is the old Stock Market with its intriguing spiral tower of winding dragons.

A visit to the Tivoli Gardens is a must when in Copenhagen 80,000 sqm right in the heart of town, it is open from May to mid September.

Nyhavn - The Old Harbour
Pretty old houses and buildings by the waterfront, looking out at the old sailing ships and all the people promenading back and forth who have come to see and be seen.

The Experimentarium (Science Centre)
Experimentarium is a science centre concentrating on nature and technology, the environment and health where you are guaranteed an eventful day with the help of 300 exciting exhibits.

The Royal Theater
In Denmark, The Royal Theatre has been housed on Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen since 1748 - first as a theatre for the King and later for the whole country.

The Shopping District
Lively pedestrian shopping street in the heart of the city, replete with buskers and street performers and large shopping centre filled with boutiques and craft shops stocking items you know you won’t find anywhere else.

Some people come because of the international calibre of the special exhibitions, some come to see the permanent collection of art, while others still visit Louisiana because of its magnificent natural surroundings.

The Little Mermaid
The sculpture was put up in 1913, and has since then been the symbol of Denmark. Like the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty both have been very important for the two cities, so has the Little Mermaid been important for Copenhagen!

The Town Hall Square
The vast public square, where people are in transit every hour of the day. The national heroes are received here, when they return from their victories abroad. The square as it lies today, is inspired by the shape of a cockle shell.

The Rosenborg Castle
It is always fun to go on a treasure hunt at Rosenborg. The greatest attractions are the crown jewels and the crown regalia in the treasure vaults.
