	Lorient Lorient is located at the junction of the Scorff & Blavet rivers where they enter the Bay of Biscay Lorient was first known as Blavet, then during the reign of Louis XIII, it was renamed Port-Louis. In 1664, during the reign of Louis XIV, a trading company was established to trade with the Far East, since when it has been know as 'L'Orient' The main industries consist of fish processing, furniture, pleasure craft navigational equipment, ship building and textiles.
